48 years old, married father of two beautiful daughters, but I no longer know what to do, I have no work for over two months, many bills to pay, and no hope to improve this site and discovers that someone like me to prove that he still has people of good heart

 in response to sandy24...   Hi and thanks for the info, i applied last April thru Binder and Binder did all dr appnts paper work filled out, just had newyork state doc exam sep 2, i just got another letter for questioneer which i did not recieve sent that back, along with copy for lawyer i think it mentioned another docs exam!!! but im ready if i have to, i asked my lawyer if she could write a hardship a letter and try and push this up im hurting bad!!! no income, im also under Pychiatric treament have been, so they have that letter also awhile now, im suffer from extreme depression, i do have medication, im ok like everyone else i have my ups and downs all this came from this "situation" and loosing "unemployment' benefits in March!!! but i do what it takes, and thanks have to find out who is my local "federal senator" incase i need to.....i have medicade...Its really great u have a good relationship with st vincents depaul society and that their food is fresh even if its once a month thats something, great for paper goods and pet food, cleaning supplies, and yr soooo right the $99 cent store, couldnt live with-out it!!!...yes its all a game with these politians, but ive never done this, should try, if i do will let u know, ur seem very upbeat and positive, and thats the best way to be!!! keep smiling....dEE

 in response to sandy24...   The only other thing i can suggest, are GRANTS!!! i my-self have never applied, but people that know how to apply to grants, im thinking there must be places were people can apply for help!!! but when u have a "a house" its hard getting any kind of help, because its property, yr in a tough spot....hang in there maybe some else here at aidepage can help, or would know where u can turn to!!!.......dEE

 in response to sandy24...   Sorry yr going thru all this, but sadly to say yr not alone, i havent had an income in 10 months i was one of the original 99'ers that lost their unemployment benefits, i manage on a daily basis, but because i live in apt i have foostamps and can manage (barely) on public assistence , my family help when they can so i consider my-self fortunate, i have medical problems, i applied to Disability but that takes forever!!! so i know how u feel in that reguard!!! i wish i had the answers for u and the help u need, i know they go by gross income and thats terrible, so many people out there barely managing and have to turn to food pantries, its sooo sad!!! but i know u wont get rich or get the benefits u desperately need!!! and for everything ITS A BIG DEAL!!! THE ONLY THING I CAN SUGGEST FOR FOOD IS GO TO THE "PANTRIES" I WISH I HAD THE ANSWERS FOR U!!! ALL WE CAN DO IS HANG IN THERE!!! AND PRAY IT GETS BETTER!!! .....dEE

I cant stress this enough!!! if yr out of work and havent applied u need to apply to UNEMPLOYMENT ASAP!!! if u cant for what ever reasons, then u need to go and apply to "public assistence" youll get emergency foodstamps, medical, and in most cases help with rent, if not section 8 housing, u might also get cash assistence, and if u have ANY OVERDUE BILLS BRING THEM!!! DISCONNECTION NOTICES!!! but u have to go in person apply, and yes fill out forms and there is a wait in the office but everyone goes thru this,...for everything else such as clothing and appliances that are slightly used, go to salvation army and thrift stores, also check out free listings on craigslist and backpage in yr area.....Good Luck!!!
